Chickpea or chana sowing is started in the key producing states of India. Chana will continue to remain the largest produced pulse crop in India holding a share of around 50 percent in total Indian Pulses production. The government in their fourth advance estimates has projected record output of at 9.88 million tonnes in the Rabi season.
