Chickpea crop is the pod development stage in the key producing states of India. India's cabinet committee had given nod for creating 1.5 lakh tonnes of buffer stock for pulses this year in view of the high retail prices which hovers around Rs 180 per kg in most places. The domestic pulse scenario is hit by a gap in supply and demand.
