Chana prices in spot has shown some correction on anticipation of higher production in the country in Kharif 2016-17. As per Govt, Pulses sowing has exceeded the last year levels by 39%. Tur, Moong and Urad has taken the maximum share of area. Around 71 lakh ha has been covered in the 2016-17 as compared to 51 lakh ha in 2015-2016.
