As per reports, Government has procured around 16.88 lakh tonnes including 3.79 lakh tonnes of imports towards building the buffer stock of pulses of upto 20 lakh tonnes as on March 28’ 2017. Government procured Arhar and Moong during KMS 2016-17 to extend MSP support to farmers and simultaneously build the buffer.
