Presently castor crop is in the maturity stage in Gujarat state. Gujarat is the major castor seed producing state in India. Major castor growing districts in Gujarat are Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Kutch, Ahmedabad, Vadodra and Patan. Oil extracted from the castor seed have very high industrial value.
