Presently castor crop is in capsule formation stage in the Gujarat state. Incidence of the castor capsule borer is observed on the castor crop. Gujarat is the major castor seed producing state in India. Major castor growing districts in Gujarat are Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Kutch, Ahmedabad, Vadodra and Patan.
