Gujarat is the major castor seed producing state in the country. Castor crop is presently in vegetative stage in Gujarat state. Incidence of castor semilooper pest is observed on castor crop. Presently castor farmers are engaged in weeding and intercultural operations. Oil extracted from castor seed have very high industrial value.
