Gujarat is the major castor seed producing state in India. Presently castor crop is in the maturity stage in the Gujarat state. Major castor growing districts in Gujarat state are Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Kutch, Ahmedabad, Vadodra and Patan. Oil extracted from the castor seed have very high industrial value.
