As on 5th August, Castor has been sown in an area of 1.52 lakh hectare as compared to 1.48 lakh hectares sown at the same time last year. It is expected that this year Castor area in Gujarat may decrease by 20-25% of normal in season area. Castor area may decline by 10-15% in Rajasthan than normal in season area of 2.15 lakh hectares.
