The demand for cheaper cardamom of Guatemalan origin in the West Asian market has dented prospects of Indian exporters. It is tough time for Indian cardamom exporters as production is much higher but export orders have shrunk. Local markets are bearing the brunt of the reduced demand in international markets as domestic prices fell.
