Indian cardamom production has been higher in the current season and the export orders have thinned, according to the commodity analysts. Consequently the cardamom spot prices, at about Rs 550 per kilo gram, are ruling below the cost of production, which has reached Rs 811 per kilo gram after the recent increase of wage in Kerala.
