Easing demand in the spot markets against adequate stocks, mainly kept pressure on the cardamom prices at futures trade. Cardamom plant requires summer showers for new offshoots to grow resulting in new pods of cardamom. Generally, harvesting of cardamom starts from July every year. Idukki of Kerala is the main centre for cardamom in the country.
