Cardamom prices in June 2016, rose almost 10% at Vandanmedu market in Kerala on rising export demand amid tight supply. Prices traded at Rs. 862 per kg on 30th June from a low of Rs. 786 per kg traded on 1st June. The Spices Board has pegged production of small cardamom at 18,000 tonnes from 69.970 hectares of land and exports at 5,938 tonnes in 2015-16.
