Firmer trend in black pepper continued in Kochi spot market while the futures contracts on the IPSTA remained steady. Farmers are holding back and as a result the supply remained shrunk. Prices moved up by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 63,300 (ungarbled) and Rs 66,300 (garbled). Export prices were at $10,250 per tonne for Europe and $10,500 for US.
