After Climate Change making new waves across the world, it has now hit consumer product companies. Now, these companies are including climate change into their equation as well.

A survey by CDP on 16 major corporations shows that, not only are they making efforts to lower carbon emissions but also preparing for the effects of global warming on supply chain and making changes as per the growing environmental consciousness among their customers.

Examples includes brewer AB InBev’s is developing a kind of barley which needs less water. Not only this, Unilever is making adjustments in detergent formulas for them to work at the lower “eco” temperature settings.

Veganism is another trend which has been chased by many to ditch animal products since meat as well as dairy have a huge carbon footprint.

In fact, CDP has ranked companies as per the amount of threat their business has by climate change, and what measures are they taking to prepare for it along with the amount of information they disclose to the market.

Consumer goods are the reason for one third of greenhouse gas emissions, which means that companies which manufacture them play an important role in the efforts of keeping global warming below 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit by the end of this century.
