A 75-acre biodiversity park is coming up in Noida, Sector-91. The project is in full swing, and an estimate is being prepared and will be very soon sent to IIT Delhi for a further plan of action.
The project will be put into action in various phases and is likely to get completed in two years of time. Also, the estimated cost of the project has come to somewhere around 50 crore rupees. The Biodiversity Park is a significant step towards diminishing the effects of Global Warming and Climate Change.
Due to urbanization of cities in various parts of the world, flora and fauna have been vanishing and concrete jungles are taking over. This park is a step towards a greener Noida and making improvements in the environment.
According to the additional CEO, Rajesh Prakash, biomes can be recreated keeping in mind the climate and soil type of Noida. The park will also provide an opportunity for learning about food webs, species of flora and fauna, ecosystem redevelopment, seed germination, etc.
The biodiversity park’s components will be elucidated through different parts of the Palash Flower to make it easier for the young ones to understand. The entrance and parking will be called a receptacle, while the picnic areas, amphitheatre and exhibition areas will be called as the sepals. The six petals will denote small forms of the forest ecosystems. And finally, the bee flight will have the cycle track for allowing movement across the biomes.
Stretches of seasonal ponds will signify the source of life, i.e. water. The park will boast around 200 species of plants and trees. Some of the species include Peepal, Amaltas, Kusum, Mango, Khajoor, Maulsiri, and Kachnar. Solar power will be used for the lighting of the park.
