Air Pollution and severe weather conditions have already been wreaking havoc over several parts of Asia including India and China.
Now, as per a study conducted by MIT, Asia may reel under severe water shortage by the year 2050.
The research states that Climate Change and population, as well as economic growth, will be responsible for scarcity of water in the next 30 to 35 years.
The study has been conducted taking into consideration both water availability shortly.
With Climate Change reaching new heights every day, water scarcity will only increase in the next 3 to 4 decades. While Climate Change may have been a reason for most first world problems, expansion of industries and the never ending population are also to be blamed.
These issues cannot be avoided as the demand for water primarily depends on the amount of people living in a particular area along with the number of industries coming up in that particular area.
The study was based on a model developed by MIT called the Integrated Global Systems Model (IGSM), which already took into consideration the factors including Climate Change, economic growth, and population growth.
The findings revealed that Industrial growth along with devastating effects of Climate Change would lead to severe water shortage in China. On the other hand, the impact of Climate Change will add on to the never ending population in India and result in water scarcity.
