Rainfall activities likely to continue over the northwest plains

New Delhi, Wednesday, August 8, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Delhi would witness showers during the next twenty fours hours. Rewari, Mahendragarh and Sirsa districts of Haryana would  be witnessing moderate rain/ thunder shower while the rains are also expected over Muktashar and Firozpur district of Punjab during this period.

 

Moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur over parts of Dausa, Sawaimadhopur, Jaipur and Alwar districts of Rajasthan during the next four to six hours. Heavy rainfall in pockets may also be experienced over these areas.

 

Delhi is witnessing rainfall activities for the last two days. Rain/ thunder shower are likely to affect lives in the national capital during the next twenty four hours as more rain has been predicted. Residents may have to confront traffic woes as showers might lead to water-logging.

 

Rainfall activities have increased over the northern plains as the prevailing cyclonic circulation over north Madhya Pradesh has merged with the monsoon trough. The moisture laden southwesterly winds and the southeasterly winds are concentrating over the region. Again, the low pressure areas or the cyclonic circulation is also interacting with a Western Disturbance over China.
