New Delhi, The Mumbai Yorkshire cricket match in Cape Town on Thursday was called off as rains spoilt the match. The umpires waited for one and a half hours and the two teams went in and out of the field twice, before the decision was taken. Two points thus went to each team. Mumbai had to play first as Andrew Gale decided to bowl. Mumbai scored 156 from 17.5 overs at the loss of six wickets. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar raised hopes and opened the match but soon got run out(7) due to a mix with up Dwayne Smith. Dwayne hit some fours and sixes, made a score of 37 and hit a full toss straight into the hands of the leg fielder. Rohit Sharma also looked good in the beginning but he too got himself yorked by spinner Azeem Rafiq at 25. Both Dinesh Karthik and Ambati Ruyudu could hardly do anything on the field and Harbhajan and Kieron Pollard hit a couple of fours and sixes before they too gifted away their wickets to the well-deserved bowlers.

It was a stop start performance for the Mumbai Indians as wickets kept falling at regular intervals. In spite of the Yorkshire team using extras, none of the Mumbai Indians could use this to their advantage in scoring any big runs individually.  For Yorshire Adil Rasheed and Azeem Rafiq grabbed two wickets each and Joe Root took one wicket.

The Mumbai got saved this time even though their innings did not look so promising but they would now have to win both the remaining matches to enter the Semi Finals.
