Significantly below normal temperature kept the weather in Delhi cool and comfortable yesterday, thanks to the Western Disturbance over North Pakistan and adjoining areas of Jammu & Kashmir. The system, along with the cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan will continue to bring rain with strong winds in the national capital region for the next 24 hours.
According to the latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the Safdarjung Observatory in Delhi recorded traces of rain in a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday.
As predicted by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, rain and partly cloudy skies pulled down the day temperature in Delhi on Friday to record 30°C. The maximum temperature is not likely to rise much and would maintain levels till Sunday. The minimum temperature showed a marginal rise (yet one notch below the season's average) and settled at 20°C today morning.
Due to the present weather systems, southwesterly winds from the Arabian Sea will continue to feed moisture and bring light to good amounts of rain and thundershowers at some places over the national capital with strong winds ranging between 30 kmph and 50 kmph. The intensity of rain in Delhi is likely to decrease in next 24 hours.
