The Thai nation has been witnessing heavy rains for the past many days. All thanks to the persisting weather system which has been pounding moderate to heavy rains over many areas of Thailand. The last 24 hours were also quite similar as many parts of Thailand did record hefty rains. In fact, some areas even saw rains close to the three-digit mark.
In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am (IST) on Tuesday, Phattalung saw 96 mm of rains followed by 94 mm of rainfall in Pattani. Other areas to have seen good rains include Narathiwat 97 mm, Nakhonsi Thammarat 66 mm, and Yala 57 mm.
Now, the weather system is expected to move towards South Andaman Sea during the next 24 hours intensifying into a low pressure area. The system will result in outbreaks of continuous rainfall activity with torrential showers occurring in South Thailand between today and December 1. Not only this, the possibility of flash floods, mudslides and inundation of water in the landmasses cannot be ruled out.
Between November 29 and December 2, cities of Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Ronong, Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi, Tang and Satun will be affected.
As per weathermen, the winds will remain gusty in both the Andaman Sea as well as the Gulf. Not only this, sea will remain rough and waves as high as 2 metres may be seen. All ships are advised to take caution and residents as well as fishermen should not venture out in the sea.
