The low-pressure area which was over the Gulf of Thailand and over adjoining North Indonesia gave heavy to very heavy rains over the central provinces of Thailand. However, South Thailand received light to moderate rains while the northern provinces witnessed light rainfall activity. On the other hand, the eastern provinces of the country were mainly dry.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am as on Tuesday, Phetchaburi recorded very hefty rains to the tune of 93.3 mm, Nong Phlub Agromet 70.4 mm, Prachup Khirikhan 55.3 mm, Samutsongkram 44.3 mm, Chumpon 21.2 mm, and Ranong recorded 20 mm of rains.

As of now, the low-pressure area is gradually moving in the westward direction towards the Andaman Sea. Moreover, the high-pressure area is currently over South China, and this is likely to extend to the northeast of Thailand in the next 24 hours.
In the wake of this, cool winds from the north are expected to prevail which will result in dropping the temperatures of the northern, northeastern, and central parts of the country by 2-4 degrees in next 48 hours.

Thus, the weather of northern, northeastern and central parts of Thailand in cities such as Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, and Lampang are expected to remain cool. While the eastern, and southeastern, southwestern coastal provinces such as Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Phuket, Krabi, and Trang will witness partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions.
However, the southeast and southwestern coastal provinces may also witness scattered rain and thundershowers along with isolated heavy rains for the next 24-48 hours. Thereafter. there will be a significant decrease in the rain intensity over these areas.
