Sri Lanka has been witnessing light to moderate showers with few isolated heavy spells for the past many days. The rain intensity has been more over the East coast of the country.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, the intensity of rain is likely to reduce for now. However, light to moderate rain is likely to continue during the next 24 to 48 hours. Thereafter, the low-pressure area which is over the Andaman Sea will move in a west southwest direction towards Sri Lanka.

Thus, it is anticipated that the rain intensity will increase across the nation by November 25. By November 26, the low-pressure area is likely to intensify into a well-marked low-pressure area.

This weather system is expected to give heavy to extremely heavy rains over many parts of Sri Lanka on November 26 and 27. The hefty showers may also urge flood like situation across many cities of the country.

However, the weather system will move away eastwards by November 29 and hence the rain intensity will reduce significantly. The temperatures will also reduce significantly during that time and the weather will remain cool and comfortable.
