Severe weather conditions have affected the Java Island of Indonesia in the past week. The region witnessed heavy rainfall activity along with gusty winds. To add up to the fury, a tornado also impacted the region wreaking havoc and causing significant damages.

As per the weather models, Surabaya city of Java Island recorded a whopping 82 mm of rainfall in a span of 24 hours from November 23-24.
Further, a tornado tore through East Java province of Indonesia on Wednesday, injuring about 36 people and damaging more than 600 houses. As per weather department, the tornado churned for roughly five minutes with a speed of 70 km/hr.
The Meteorologists are of the view that more severe weather conditions will lash the region during the next 24 hours. During this time, heavy rain and thunderstorms along with strong winds will affect several areas of the country. Also the ones that have already been affected with such weather conditions, thus the situation will become more worse over these regions.
The Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) has issued an orange alert for heavy rains, thunderstorms and strong winds for East Java Province on November 24. They have also issued an orange alert for strong winds in Banten Province of Java Island.
