Bali International Airport remained shut for the third day due to the concerns that jet engines may choke on the thick volcanic ash.
Authorities have raised the alert for Mount Agung to the highest level and told 100,000 residents to evacuate the area extending 10 km from its crater.
Mount Agung last erupted in 1963 that killed more than 1100. Since then, the volcano remained dominant.
But in August it slowly began to growl back to life and through September the number of tremors recorded at Mount Agung reached about a thousand a day.
