China experiences freezing winter all over the country barring the South and some places in the Southwest, where weather conditions remain warm and sunny. Places such as Hong Kong, Macau, Hainan Island, Xishuangbanna and Panning come in the south. These warm places are comfortable winter escapes for people in the colder climates.

Winter is the coldest season in China from December to February. January is considered as the coldest month with average temperature lower than 0℃, covering two thirds of China.
The northern chunk of China encounters cold weather initially and the chilly cold feeling lasts much longer in comparison to southern areas. Rains will fall as sleet and snow and quite often can be witnessed as frost and ice on the floor during the morning hours.
To relish the jaw dropping snowy landscapes, one can visit the northeast regions of China that includes three provinces of Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang. China’s Northeast region is famous for skiing, sledding and skating and all other winter activities.
