The total production of wheat, which accounts for about 35 per cent of India’s total food grains’ basket is expected to reach 100 million tonnes by 2016-2017 year from the level of about 93.5 million tonnes as of 2012-2013 year, according to the study done by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham).
