Rabi wheat season has started on a promising note this year. As sowing is on in most parts of the country, there is adequate moisture in the soil, thanks to a delayed withdrawal of the SW monsoon. This year, SW monsoon began retreating after September 15 i.e. more than a fortnight later than the original forecast. Prevailing weather is congenial for the sowing.
