Turmeric prices at Nizamabad in Andhra Pradesh, rose by Rs 146 to Rs 5,133 per quintal. Local supplies would increase with the arrival of the new crop from February, according to spot traders. Turmeric cultivation usually begins in the last week of May month and continues until August. A lengthy harvesting process starts from January month.
