New crop in Punjab and Haryana has been planted under optimum weather. Cane crop remains healthy in major cane belts as good monsoon was reported from Maharashtra,Gujaratand Andhra. Earlier sown cane is mostly in elongation to development stages. Sugarcane harvesting is being carried out in northern parts of Karnataka.
