Chinese physical raw sugar demand has picked up after prices slipped last week, and European trade sources cited talk of a small purchase of Thai sweetener by a refinery in China. Chinese refineries prefer Brazilian to Thai raw sugar, as they like the quality of Brazilian sweetener and can save costs due to cheap bulk freight.
