The onset of south-west monsoon has triggered sowing of Paddy crop, although at a slower pace than last year. The Monsoon to gain strength over rice growing areas in next week. Area under rice sowing were 0.759 million hectares for the week ended June 19 against 1.289 million hectares the year-ago period, according to Agriculture Ministry.
