Indian cumin seed or jeera futures rose as traders expect export demand from Gulf nations would rise in coming months due to political tensions in Turkey and Syria. Jeera production is expected to rise to about 6.5-7 million bags of 55 kg each in the year 2014, from about 4.5-5 million bags a year earlier due to expanded area under cultivation.
