Seems like the farmers of Madhya Pradesh are having a tough time in filling up the loan waiver form. The major chunk of problem is for those farmers who do not have an Aadhar number. The Congress government already made Aadhar compulsory for the loan waiver exercise and the farmers were required to mention their Aadhar numbers with a copy of it to the loan waiver form.
Farmers who still don’t have an Aadhar card made, have been asked to enroll in the Unique Identification Programme. The government said that in such cases the enrollment number can be cited in the form instead of the Aadhar number.
It has been found that till date around 4.4 million farmers out of estimated 5.5 million eligible farmers in the states have filled up this form.
The government communicated to all district magistrates that an Aadhar enrollment identification number is generated once a person enrolls for the unique identification number. The biometrics machines have been provided by Madhya Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (MPSIDC) to the district collectors in order to enroll people for Aadhar in all 51 districts of the state.
