The demand-supply mismatch of chana or chickpea is causing further pressure on the prices which may shoot in the near future.India’s pulses production is around 18.60 million tonnes, against the demand of about 22 million tonnes inIndia, leaving a gap in demand-supply. The unseasonal rains are also likely to impact adversely to the chana or chickpea output this year.
