Castor crop was the worst hit, with 50% damage in parts of Rajasthan. The crop is affected due to harsh winters in the area. On the back of increased sowing of castor seed during the Kharif season this year coupled with favourable weather conditions, castor production in Gujarat, the largest producer of the commodity, is all set to witness a sharp jump in the output of this oil seed.
