Upcountry demand for pepper has slowed due to severe cold conditions in the northern states in India. Buyers are staying indoors, end users are in a wait-and-watch mode. New crop starts arriving soon in large volumes. Kochi spot prices moved up by Rs 200 to Rs 50,100 (ungarbled) and Rs 52,100 (garbled) per quintal.
