A depression in the north Andaman Sea could intensify into a deep depression that could shape up as a cyclonic storm in the next 24 hours. The weather system may travel in west-northwestward direction to hit Odisha on 12th and 13th of October. The weather system currently lies about 350 km east-northeast of Portblair, 1450 km east-southeast of Paradip, 1520 km east-southeast of Visakhapatnam.Sea conditions will be rough as the cyclone may advance towards the east coast with squally winds ranging between 80 kmph and 110 kmph. Moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers at many places with very heavy rain at one or two places are likely over Odisha.
