US President Barack Obama will visit the city of Agra on January 27 to catch a glimpse of the beautiful Taj Mahal. The US President, accompanied by his wife Michelle Obama, will fly aboard the Air Force One from Delhi to Agra. The city of Agra will continue to observe cold day conditions as it is currently in the thick of winters. The region is susceptible to both rain and fog. Thus fog along with some light rain can be expected during Obama’s visit.
The normal temperature during Obama’s visit is expected to remain around 8°C (minimum) and 23°C (maximum). Agra lies on the banks of the river Yamuna which makes it susceptible to fog in particular. Any region which lies close to a large water body is prone to frequent fog formation. The low temperature of the water bodies usually results in foggy adjacent areas. Fog usually emanates from the river Yamuna and prevents day temperatures from rising thereby giving birth to cold day conditions in the region.
Ahead of Obama’s visit, security in the city has been tightened. Around 5000 policemen will be on duty for providing security during the US President’s visit. American Secret Service personnel have already sanitized the key areas of the city and are working in close co-operation with local security authorities. Moreover, the Taj Mahal will be closed to visitors on the day of Obama’s visit and even the shops surrounding the wonder will remain shut. Coastal security too has been increased and offshore patrolling has also been beefed up.
It remains unclear whether Barack Obama and his wife will use their ‘indestructible’ limousine ‘The Beast’ to visit Taj or will they board a helicopter and land close to the monument. In any case, security forces are bracing up for every scenario during the US President’s visit to the city of Taj. The most powerful leader of the world is expected to leave for US right after his Agra visit.
