It is no news that the entire country is struggling with the ongoing heatwave. Heatwave conditions so severe that it made drought like conditions in the country. More than one-third districts of the country are officially under drought. It is April only and the temperatures are shooting up to 46°C. But in interesting turn of events, there are places in the country that are receiving snowfall around this time.
Lahaul-Spiti valley in Himachal Pradesh received snowfall. Although very light and short-lived snowfall made sure that the temperatures are brought back to normal. Such type of weather activity is unexpected in April and the residents were extremely surprised by such turn of weather anomaly.
During the last winters, the tribal areas of Lahaul-Spiti valley and Kinnaur districts had recorded very less snowfall activity. The upper regions Himachal Pradesh do receive snowfall in April but this is the first time that the foot of the Himalayas is receiving snowfall.
After a dry winter, the residents of Lahaul-Spiti valley were amazed and shocked to see such a weather activity as this the time tourist make a visit to this remote destination.
