The Western Disturbance, now stationed over Jammu and Kashmir, and the induced cyclonic circulation first affected weather in Central and East Asia.
The Western Disturbance kept moving eastwards and brought good showers over Pakistan. It has now entered the Indian region. It has already started raining in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, parts of Punjab and Delhi-NCR.

Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Punjab witnessed some rainfall on Thursday night. On Friday evening several parts of Delhi received a couple of short spells of heavy showers accompanied by squally winds. Rainfall was reported from Noida, Model Town and Chandni Chowk among other places.

As the induced cyclonic circulation, stationed over Punjab and adjoining areas, slowly moves in the east direction it will draw moisture from the Arabian Sea. Thereby, gathering more strength and moving even slower. The intensity and spread of rain will increase further during the next 2 days.
These two weather systems put together will bring widespread rain over the hilly states of North India, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. Some snowfall likely in the higher reaches. Isolated places could receive heavy showers.

Rain and thundershowers will be accompanied by strong winds and probably even hailstorm as it’s a favorable season for such activities.
Hailstorms are not only damaging for crops but they also adversely affect aviation.
Temperatures in North India
Temperatures in the plains of North India have been showing a rising trend for the last few days, with most of places recording maximums in the lower thirties. Overnight rains and cloudy weather will not let the temperatures rise in this region. We can expect a slight drop in day temperatures tomorrow.
