Delhi continues to remain fog-free for the third consecutive day. In fact, foggy conditions have abated from most parts of North India.

Even parts of the NCR including Noida Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ghaziabad remained fog-free. Visibility remained good for the entire night and early morning.

No significant weather systems are affecting North India as of now. The previous Western Disturbance has moved away.

Strong and dry northwesterly winds are blowing over the plains of North India. These winds have significantly reduced the humidity level.

Foggy conditions have taken a backseat over most parts of North India. The conditions remained the same in Delhi-NCR where fog has abated from most pockets.

However, Palam Airport continued to witness moderate fog with the visibility dropping to a mere 300 metres.

Parts of NCR including Noida observed shallow fog. However, areas including Gurgaon, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad remained fog free.

Shallow fog was observed over Rajouri Garden, Yamuna Bank, Dwarka and Saket.

Other parts of Delhi including Rajiv Chowk, Rohini East, Karol Bagh, Kashmere Gate, Model Town, and Dhaula Kuan remained fog free.

Strong northerly winds blowing over the plains of North India have resulted in the reduction of humidity and have kept foggy conditions out of bay.

While most parts of Delhi-NCR observed a less foggy morning, Palam Airport was enveloped in very dense fog.

The visibility at the Palam Airport was 50 metres at about 5:30 am. However, conditions deteriorated in half an hour and the visibility then dropped to nil and continued to remain the same at 7:00 am as well.

Shallow fog was witnessed in areas including Yamuna Bank, and Dwarka.

The NCR region observed similar conditions with Faridabad and Noida observing shallow fog. However, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad recorded no fog.

Areas including Rajiv Chowk, Karol Bagh, Kashmere Gate, Anand Vihar, AIIMS, Dhaula Kuan, Dilshad Garden, Rohini and Jasola recorded no fog.

For the third consecutive day, dense fog continued to be out of sight in most parts of Delhi-NCR. While some parts remained fog free, other areas observed shallow fog.

Palam Airport continued to observe moderate fog. Here, the visibility dropped at 200 metres at about 5:30 am. The situation remained the same or about an hour.

At 6:30 am, there was a slight improvement with the visibility improving ti a good 300 metres.

Areas including AIIMS, Dhaula Kuan, Dilshad Garden, ITO, Jasola, Janakpuri East, Rajiv Chowk, and Karol Bagh observed a fog free morning.

The conditions were similar in the NCR region with Gurgaon, and Ghaziabad witnessing a fog free morning. However, areas including Noida, and Faridabad observed shallow fog.

Shallow fog was also recorded over Dwarka, Rajouri Garden, and Yamuna Bank.

Fog continues to evade Delhi for the second consecutive day on Saturday morning. However, few pockets still reported shallow fog.

One such place was Palam Airport that reported visibility of 800 meters during early morning hours.

Rest of places such as Karol Bagh, AIIMS, Dhaula Kuan, Rajauri Garden, Saket, Rajiv Chowk, and Lajpat Nagar reported fairly good visibility conditions.

Similar conditions were witnessed over NCR that includes Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida and Ghaziabad.

According to Skymet Weather, sun is expected tp come up early and national capital is likely to witness a pleasant day ahead.

Most parts of Delhi has reported shallow or no fog on Friday morning. However, Palam Airport was the only pocket to observe moderate fog with visibility dropping to 300 meters.

Places like Rajiv Chowk, AIIMS, Karol Bagh, Rohini, Janak Puri and Anand Vihar witnessed good visibility conditions.

Even NCR that includes  Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida and Ghaziabad observed no fog.

According to Skymet Weather, it will be a pleasant day ahead with sun coming up early.

After observing shallow fog for the last couple of days, dense fog returned to few pockets of Delhi on Thursday morning.

Palam Airport was one such pocket that reported dense fog with visibility of 200 meters.

While other places such as Rajiv Chowk, Anand Vihar, Udyog Bhawan, Yamuna Bank, Dhaula Kuan and AIIMS observed shallow fog with visibility ranging between 500 meters and 800 meters.

Rest of the places across the national capital witnessed fog free morning today.

While NCR that includes places such as Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida and Ghaziabad observed no fog with fairly good visibility conditions.

According to Skymet Weather, sun is expected to come up early due to the thin fog layer leading to early dissipation of fog from the city.

For past couple of days, there has been a significant relief from dense fog in Delhi-NCR. Today was also marked by shallow fog in the national capital today. Areas like Karol Bagh, Dwarka, Kashmere Gate, ITO and even Palam Airport observed shallow fog today morning.

NCR region including NoidaFaridabad and Ghaziabad observed no fog in the morning.

Morning temperature in Delhi was also 11°C at 7.00 am, several notches above the normal.

Delhiites once again woke up to a cold but less foggy day. Should be good news for the people preparing to go out and participate in the Republic Day celebrations at the historic Rajpath.

Most parts of the national capital witnessed shallow fog.

Even the NCR region including Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ghaziabad observed shallow for today morning.

There was no fog at all near Anand Vihar and Janakpuri East.

After observing dense to very dense fog for three consecutive days, Delhiites finally woke up to a less foggy Monday morning. Most areas of Delhi-NCR recorded shallow fog.

While the visibility remained nil for the past three days at the Palam Airport, the station recorded a good 700 metres during the early morning hours.

Not only this, most areas including AIIMS, Dhaula Kuan, Dwarka, ITO, Rajiv Chowk, Karol Bagh, Model Town, Kashmere Gate, Nehru Place, and Saket recorded shallow fog.

The NCR region including Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ghaziabad also observed less foggy conditions. Shallow fog was observed over these areas.

For the third consecutive day, the residents of Delhi and parts of NCR woke up to a foggy morning. The city was engulfed in thick fog during the early morning hours. The visibility dropped to zero at the Palam Airport at around 5:30 am and the conditions remained the same till about 7:00 am. Similar conditions were observed in Old Faridabad, Rajiv Chowk and parts of Noida. Here also dense fog with very low visibility was recorded. However, areas including a few areas in Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon observed shallow fog. The conditions were slightly better than yesterday. Shallow fog was also recorded over Anand Vihar, AIIMS, Dwarka, Karol Bagh, Model Town, Saket and Yamuna Bank. However, conditions are likely to improve in a few hours as the sun will come up during the late morning hours at around 10:00 am. The city has been covered in thick fog for the last two days. High humidity levels, light winds and low temperatures have been conducive for the formation of fog. The temperatures are likely to go beyond the 20-degree mark and winter chill will reduce a little.

For the second consecutive day, Delhi continued to witness dense to very dense fog. Visibility at Palam Airport reduced to nil during the early Saturday morning hours. Similar conditions were witnessed over Anand Vihar that reported very dense fog. Places such as Dhaula Kuan, Ashram, AIIMS, Dilshad Garden and Lodhi Road reported dense fog today morning. While rest of the places like Rohini, Karol Bagh, Kashmere Gate, Model Town and Janak Puri witnessed shallow to moderate fog, with visibility ranging between 200 meters to 500 meters. In NCR region, Noida, Indirapuram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad also reported very dense fog. Conditions will improve gradually as the sun will come up by noon. According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, weather conditions are conducive for the formation of fog, as all the factors required for it are prevailing in the atmosphere. Humid southeasterly winds are blowing over the national capital. Moreover, the wind speed is also light and temperatures are settling on the lower side. All the factors combined together has led to foggy morning. Minimum temperatures was around 6°C around 6:30 am on Saturday.

Delhiites once again were witness to a foggy morning on Friday. Dense to very dense fog had engulfed several parts of Delhi, with visibility reducing to nil. Visibility dropped to zero at Palam Airport around 5:00 am and remained nil till 7:30 am. Reportedly, 35 trains were cancelled and at least 14 were running behind the schedule. Places such as AIIMS, Dhaula Kuan, Ashram, Moti Bagh, Yamuna Bank reported dense fog, with visibility ranging from 50 meters to 200 meters. Mayur Vihar, Lakshmi Nagar, Karol Bagh, Rohini, R K Puram witnessed moderate fog. While NCR also witnessed similar weather conditions, with Noida, Yamuna Expressway, Faridabad and Ghaziabad also observing dense fog. According to Skymet Weather, cooling of land did not take place due to the clear sky conditions. Wind speed was light and minimum temperatures have also witnessed a drop. All these factors led to the formation of dense fog over the national capital today morning. However, weather conditions will improve gradually as the sun comes up and fog will abate by noon hours.

After witnessing dense fog for two consecutive mornings, Delhiites woke up to a fog free morning on Thursday. Pockets such as Karol Bagh, Dhaula Kuan, Saket, South Extension, Rohini, Janak Puri, Faridabad and Gurgaon reported fairly good visibility conditions. According to Skymet Weather, moderate northwesterly winds have been blowing over the region that has led to abatement of fog from Delhi. Minimum temperature have also been settling close to its normal average. The temperature was 8°C at 6:30 am today morning. Similar weather conditions are expected to continue on Friday as well.

Delhi witnesses a foggy morning for the second consecutive day. Many parts of the national capital recorded moderate to dense fog on Wednesday morning.

Flight operations were also affected due to foggy weather. Several delays have been reported so far.

Shallow fog was witnessed in places like Karol Bagh and Kashmere Gate. Faridabad witnessed dense fog and visibility reduced to about 200 meters. There was dense fog at Rajiv Chowk as well.

Density of fog has increased over the national capital on Tuesday morning as moderate to dense fog enveloped most parts of Delhi-NCR.

Very dense fog was observed at the Palam Airport leading to a significant drop in the visibility to mere 50 metres at around 5:30 am. The conditions remained the same till 6:30 am.

Yamuna Bank, Ashok Nagar, Mayur Vihar and most parts of Noida including Yamuna Expressway reported dense fog today.

Meanwhile South Extension, Ashram, Lajpat Nagar and Akshardham witnessed moderate fog, with visibility ranging between 200 meters to 500 meters.

While shallow fog was recorded over other stations in Delhi such as Dhaula Kuan, Rajauri Garden, Rajiv Chowk, Chandni Chowk, Udyog Bhawan, Yamuna Bank, Janak Puri East, and Dwarka.

In NCR, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and Faridabad also witnessed foggy morning but with less intensity.

Moreover, maximum temperatures have taken a dip and residents of Delhi are observing the much awaited winter chill.

After observing fog free mornings for two good days, Delhiites again woke up to a slightly foggy Monday morning.

While the visibility dropped to around 100 metres at 5:30 am at the Palam Airport and remained the same for about half n hour, there was a marginal improvement at 6:30 am with the visibility being recorded at 150 metres.

However other areas of Delhi-NCR recorded improved conditions. shallow or no fog was observed over rest of Delhi and the NCR region.

Areas including Rajiv Chowk, Udyog Bhawan, Faridabad and Yamuna Bank witnessed shallow fog. However, other areas including Karol Bagh, Jahangirpuri, and Gurgaon observed a fog free morning.

Light winds and decreased temperatures have resulted in the formation of fog over the national capital. Open areas and places near water bodies observed slightly thicker fog.

 

Updated on January 17, 2016 07:00 AM (IST): Fog free morning once again for the national capital

For the second consecutive day, fog has remained absent from almost all parts of Delhi-NCR. Unlike yesterday, even shallow fog did not make an appearance over the national capital.

At around 5:30 am the visibility was recorded at 1000 metres at the Palam Airport. Even after an hour at 6:30 am, the conditions remained the same with no drop in visibility.

After observing dense fog after a really long time on Friday morning, the city observed clear conditions on both Saturday and Sunday morning.

Fog free morning was witnessed over areas including AIIMS, Karol Bagh, Palam Airport, Saket, Dhaula Kuan, Dwarka, and Rajiv Chowk. Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad also remained clear.

These clear conditions can be attributed to the wake of the Western Disturbance, due to which, northwesterly winds have been blowing over the plains of North India resulted in fog free mornings over Delhi-NCR.

Delhiites woke up to another fog-free morning on Saturday. Only shallow fog was reported over isolated pockets of Delhi. Karol Bagh, AIIMS, Saket, Dwarka, Palam Airport, Dhaula Kuan, Rajiv Chowk and Rohini reported no fog today morning. Yamuna Bank was the only pocket that reported shallow fog. Similar conditions was also observed over NCR that includes Gurgaon, Noida and Faridabad.

Visibility was fairly good during the morning hours, with strong winds blowing over the national capital.

According to Skymet Meteorological Division in India, strong to moderate northwesterly winds are being observed over the city once again after the passage of Western Disturbance from the hilly region of North India. These cold and dry winds have reduced the moisture content from the atmosphere, leading to abatement of fog.

Skymet predicts sky will be partly cloudy during morning hours but as the sun comes up, clouds will also clear away. This will also lead to marginal increase in the day temperatures.

Updated on January 15, 2016 06:45 AM: Very dense fog returns to national capital

After abating Delhi-NCR for quite a long time, fog has finally made its reappearance over few pockets of the national capital on Friday morning. Palam Airport observed very dense fog as the visibility dropped to nil during the early morning hours.

However, no major flight delays were reported but at least four Delhi-bound trains were running behind their scheduled departure. Rest parts of Delhi and neighbouring areas witnessed mainly shallow fog with moderate at few places. Dwarka, Rajiv Chowk, Dhaula Kuan, Yamuna Bank and AIIMS observed shallow fog, with visibility of more than 500 meters. Meanwhile in NCR, Noida also reported shallow fog but Faridabad recorded moderate fog.

According to Skymet Weather, weather conditions were conducive on Friday morning for the formation of fog. Clear sky along with increased humidity levels and light winds blowing over the city led to the foggy morning. Skymet Weather predicts clear day ahead and weather conditions are likely to improve gradually after the sunrise. Yesterday, Delhi reported significant drop in both day and night temperatures.

Maximum temperature was recorded at 19°C, which was below the average day temperature for the first time in January 2016. While, minimum temperature on Friday also plunged significantly by three degrees and settled at 9.6°C.
