Rain In Delhi

Delhi is set to witness three consecutive days of rain, starting Sunday. The national capital will receive rain in the later part of the day on Sunday which will continue till night. Off and on rain showers will hit the capital and adjoining areas before that. The system is expected to affect the region for three days with light rain predicted on the third day.

After witnessing high day temperatures for several days, Delhi will finally experience rain activity . Day temperatures in the national capital were settling in the higher 30s since last few days. Both Palam and Safdarjung observatory had been recording temperatures in the bracket of 35 to 36°C. Warm conditions had taken over the region with mercury levels soaring.

But the incoming spell of rain is expected to lower day temperatures thereby providing relief to the residents. A dip of as much as 4°C is expected in the maximum temperature today itself. A marginal dip will be observed tomorrow as well. Thereafter, temperature is expected to settle in the lower 30s. Pleasant weather conditions will prevail in the national capital.

Delhi has already exceeded the all-time record for rain in March with close to 90 mm rain recorded so far. Unusual rain activity throughout March has pushed the amount of rainfall in March beyond the normal level. But more rain is predicted for Delhi towards the tail-end of the month. Any further rain will act as a bonus and will push the all-time record further up. In any case, Delhi is expected to set a new all-time rain record for the month of March, in the next couple of days.
