NASA astronaut shares stunning image of frozen lake in the Himalayas

January 10, 2016 2:16 PM |

NASA astronaut Scott Kelly has shared a beautiful image of a frozen lake in the Himalayas, taken from space. Scott is currently circumnavigating the Earth to study the effects of prolonged space travel on humans.

Scott Kelly has completed more than 300 days in space and is likely to return after a year-long stay in outer space. Scott has been active on social media and has been sharing some wonderful images and videos lately. This is what Scott tweeted recently:

Not too long ago, Scott posted artistic images of the southern coast of India. Now, the astronaut has posted a visually stunning image of the La'angaCo Lake, located right across the north-western border of Nepal. The bright blue frozen lake can be easily spotted on a canvas of brownish hills surrounding it.

Moreover, cracks on the surface of the lake add to the beauty. A closer look reveals the many cracks on the lake's surface which add texture to the image. Kelly has surely clicked a number of photographs and will continue to do so. We'll keep informing you about more such images in future. For now, enjoy this frozen beauty from the Himalayas.
