Icy winds from the western Himalayan region may further drop the night temperatures in north India by up to 3 degrees during the coming few days. Snow melting in higher places of Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh will increase as the sky will become clear with the Western Disturbance passing off eastwards.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar has already dropped to freezing points yesterday, 9th of November and may fall further to remain in the minus temperatures. However day temperature of 14.9 degrees on Saturday may rise 2 to 3 degrees in coming two days. Similarly Jammu that recorded a minimum of 10 degrees (down by 4 degrees below normal) on Sunday may see a slight fall.
After snowfall, Shimla and Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh will witness chilly nights with minimums of around 6 and 10 degrees in the next two days.
Weather in Delhi will remain mainly clear and humidity levels will drop. Night temperature in Delhi that recorded 12 degrees and 14 degrees at two of its weather observatories in Safdarjang and Palam, may further drop by 2 degrees in coming two days. Dense fog in Delhi is not expected however shallow fog will be witnessed in morning hours.
Weather in northwest plains, central India and east India will also remain under the influence of northerly winds. Night temperatures will fall in central India but day will remain pleasant with a temperatures of around 26 to 28 degrees.
Indo-Gangetic plains will witness fall in night temperatures but day temperatures will remain normal. Fog may be witnessed in the morning hours but as the day progresses, it will become clear.
