Rain will continue to lash Delhi during the next 48 hours. The presence of axis of monsoon trough in the region is the source of this rain. The easterly to southeasterly winds from the Bay of Bengal and the southwesterly winds from the Arabian Sea will continue to feed moisture instrumental to bring rain in these parts.
The axis of monsoon trough is currently passing through Amritsar, Dehradun, Behraich, Lucknow, Gaya, Behrampur and Agartala due to which Punjab, Haryana, north Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh will continue to receive rain.
Meanwhile, rain has increased over south Madhya Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana and Marathwada which will continue for the next two days. Many places in these regions will receive moderate rain with isolated heavy showers at few places. The below normal temperatures would maintain here.
In eastern parts, rain will decrease over east Uttar Pradesh,Biharand Jharkhand. But isolated heavy rain can not be ruled out. On the other hand, Orissa and Chhattisgarh in east central parts of the country will receive rain at many places during the next 48 hours.
North Bihar, sub-Himalayan west Bengal and Sikkim could get heavy rain at isolated places during the next two days. A cyclonic circulation over Bihar is the reason for rain in the region. In northeast, east Assam and Meghalaya will get heavy rain at one or two places while rest of the areas in the region will receive light to moderate rain during the period.
Along the West coast, rain in Mumbai will decrease after the next 24 hours and subdued rain is expected thereafter. Kerala and Karnataka coast will receive light to moderate rain while north Konkan & Goa will also experience increase in rain during the next two days.
There is no significant increase in rain in interiors of south Peninsula. Light rain could be witnessed in some parts. Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema will get isolated light rain.
